It may have only made a mere $139.5 million in the state, landing it in third place for the best opening weekend in US history, but Edward and Bella's undying love shook up the box-office overseas in a big way!
This morning, it was announced by U.K. and Irish distributor Entertainment One that the fourth film of the franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking - Part One, broke the record this weekend for the biggest opening ever for an American film in the U.K. It grossed £13.9 million ($21.7 million), with Twi-Hards booking it to every available theater to see how the first part of the two-part story would come together.
The flick also did fairly well in Spain with Spanish box office receipts revealing that over 1.3 million tickets sold for the movie, a new high for an opening weekend in Spain for 2011.
